Highlights of Life
On Thursday, August 25, 1932, Moses Smith, Sr. and Bernice Wilcox welcomed their baby girl Inez into the world. Inez grew up in Bay City, Texas and graduated from Hillard High School. She accepted the Lord as her savior at an early age and was a member of Mother Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Bay City.
Inez loved working in the fellowship hall at the church. She enjoyed watching her soaps, Lifetime Movies, Family Feud with Steve Harvey and NCIS with LL Kool J. At the end of the day, she loved to discuss what happened on the soaps with her daughters.
For Inez, getting all dressed up in her 3-inch heels and nice suits was the highlight of her week. She knew when she got dressed up no one could tell her she didn't look good. Everyone would always give her compliments on how she looked.
On Friday, May 20, 2022, As the World Turns, her Search for Tomorrow ended as she recognized that there was nothing that the General Hospital could do for her. She said goodbye All My Children as she turned toward the Guiding Light. She had enjoyed The Days of Our Lives, she was no longer Young and Restless but thankful for her One Life To Live. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her Bold and The Beautiful children: Dinah Smith-McAfee (Ray Charles), Sheniqua Smith-Martin, Sherry Hawkins, Debra Nevels, Marsha Johnson (Anthony), and Sheronda Smith; siblings Andrew Smith (Berrilyn), Ronnie Smith (Carolyn), sister-in-law Shirley Smith, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Inez was preceded in death by her parents, her sibling Moses Smith Jr., Joni Watkins, and Mary Crawford, and her son-in-law Anthony Hawkins.
