In Loving Memory of George Wilburn Brown
September 25,1935 to October 15, 2024
George Wilburn Brown was born on September 25, 1935, in Stilwell Oklahoma to Franklin & Mable (Winkler) Brown. He passed peacefully from this life on October 15, 2024, in Markham, Texas.
George attended and graduated from Stilwell High School in Adair County, May of 1954. Later, served in the United States Army and was stationed overseas in Germany, and honorably discharged on the 22nd day of April 1963.
George grew up in Stilwell, Oklahoma where he learned the value of hard work and pride, which he carried through everything he ever did. He made a career of iron work doing jobs throughout Houston and surrounding cities, retiring out of Local 84 Iron Workers Union then he continued his efforts in the Real Estate business and owned several properties in the South Houston & Pasadena Texas area. He was a great provider for the family of five.
He really loved hard work and loved being outdoors in the yard, always working on something. Horticulture was his calling. He loved growing all types of plants. George always loved a good conversation, and collecting. He had an eye for the good things which got him into reselling much of what he would come across, and he often collected what he liked. Whatever he was doing at the time, he was 'all in'. He studied, researched, and applied that knowledge to make the absolute best of it. Naturally, he got into the outdoor flea market arena where he could stay busy, read his Bible in down time, and have lots of conversations.
George is survived by his children: George Raymond Brown, Christopher Calvin Brown & his wife Julie Carol Brown, and David Elisha Brown & his wife Josie Brown, grandchildren Darwin Allen & Ashlynn Brown, Christopher Gene & Sara Baker Shane, and great-grandchildren Prometheus Dolney Shane, Aurora Shane, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
