Charleston Ray “Bubba” Swannegan of Bay City, TX passed away on June 19, 2026.

Charleston was born on September 17, 1971 in Bay City, TX to Barbara Ray Mangum Swannegan and Clarence Leroy Swannegan Sr.

In his early years Charleston started as a drummer for his father’s Gospel Quartet Group and later became a DJ spinning music of many greats. He spent a lot of time with his brothers and his baby sisters.

Later in life Charleston was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis which attacked his nervous system. This later resulted in him being placed in the care of a Skilled Nursing Facility. That didn’t slow him down one bit.

He always made sure to keep a smile on his face and keep others entertained. He made sure he had all his CD’s, DVD’s and even snacks ready for when he watched his TV shows. He kept his spirits high right until the very end.

Charleston is survived by his sisters, Susanna Swannegan, LaShanda Swannegan and; Brothers, Cedric Littles, Johnny Swannegan, and Danny Swannegan.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence Leroy Swannegan Sr and Barbara Ray Swannegan, and brothers Richard Swannegan, Bobby Swannegan, John Littles, Chad Swannegan, and Clarence L. Swannegan Jr.

Charleston, known to everyone as Bubba Swann, will be loved and remembered always. He will truly be missed and the memories made with him forever cherished.
